N2 - The purpose was to investigate the use of the clinical simulation methodology mediated by virtual software, in order to make sense of the incorporation of this method in the current context of digital transformation. Study with a qualitative approach, hermeneutical phenomenological interpretive paradigm, with a microethnographic case study design, I seek to describe and interpret the perception of students and teachers of the Nursing career of a private university located in two regions of Chile, on the acquisition of learning through simulation mediated by virtual software. Retrospective study, with an open interview to the collaborating subjects and an open interview in focus groups to the study subjects, selected through convenience sampling. Results: the use of virtual clinical simulation mediated by software is favorable in the acquisition of competences in the training of nurses, supporting the use of technology as a tool for meaningful learning, bringing students closer to a real clinical environment, among others. The conclusions indicate that software-mediated virtual CS is an important bridge between theory and clinical practice, that its incorporation will depend on the level of training of the student, and that the teacher must possess digital skills to promote learning.
