Resumen
The purpose of the article is, based on the recent French experience of the Citizens' Convention on Climate, to identify the challenges that this example of deliberative democracy can meet, as well as the perspectives that they raise, at the political, institutional and normative levels. In this context, the methodological approach combines a political and institutional science approach on the origin and consequences in terms of political representativeness of the Citizens' Convention on Climate, on the one hand, and a normative approach on the other. In both cases, therefore, the challenges and perspectives -political, institutional and normative- of the possible generalization of the Citizens' Conventions or assemblies are questioned. The impact of a temporary convention on constitutional, legislative and regulatory norms leads us to question the scope of citizen consultation in the normative process.
