Abstract
The article presents the results of an ethnographic study on the experiences of violence of 30 Paraguayan women in the Triple-border of Paraná (between Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay). By contrasting their testimonies, we analyze the processes of socialization to patterns of violence in the families of origin, the persistence of these patterns in their adult life and their strategies to face those realities. In the end we discuss the dialectical dimension of female strategies which are able to interrupt these cycles of violence.
