Abstract
The enshrinement of the climate change issue in the Chilean legal system through, in particular, Law No. 21.455 Framework for Climate Change of 2022, has made all public policies more complex. This research questions the object, nature, scope and political-institutional and legal challenges of the incorporation of the climate variable in the Chilean territorial planning, and particularly in the regional plan of territorial planning enshrined in the constitutional organic law on regional government and administration in 2018, which constitutes both a central tool of Chilean regionalization and an instrument of territorial climate governance, which integrates regional sustainable development.
