Abstract
Throughout this article, we focus on the processes of territorial appropriation that took place between 1930 and 1990 in the district of Peñalolén (Santiago, Chile) and their relationship with the emergence of the figure of the settler. Based on the review of secondary sources and historical archives, we steer through those years framed by the housing crisis in Santiago, Chile.
