Abstract

Using the stability theory of Lyapunov, a new adaptive control scheme is designed. This control scheme adjusts only one parameter so that the state of a class of nonlinear time varying systems (possibly chaotic) asymptotically follows the state of a reference model satisfying certain hypothesis. The parameters of the nonlinear time varying system are unknown but bounded. The behaviour of the proposed control scheme is analyzed by simulations on the Rössler system, verifying the theoretical results obtained in the paper.
