Personal profile

Stella Kiorpelidi is a researcher in Theoretical Physics specializing in gravitational physics and compact objects. She obtained her PhD in Physics from the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) in 2024. Her research focuses on black hole physics, modified theories of gravity, and the study of strong-field gravitational phenomena. She has participated in several international research collaborations, has published her work in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and regularly presents her research at international conferences and workshops. Her research aims to explore physically viable black hole solutions in modified theories of gravity and to investigate their potential observational signatures. In 2025, she was awarded a FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship from ANID (Chile) for Project No. 3250501. She currently conducts her postdoctoral research at the Research Center for Space Sciences and Theoretical Physics (Centro de Investigación en Ciencias del Espacio y Física Teórica, CICEF) at the Central University of Chile (Universidad Central de Chile, UCEN).
