Researcher at the Center for Research in Economy and Society (ESOC). Associate Researcher at the Center for Studies of Conflict and Social Cohesion (COES). Paz holds a PhD in Sociology from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a Master's degree in Culture and Society (LSE), and a degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Chile. Her research focuses on cultural economics, economic sociology, urban sociology, and urban studies from an ethnographic perspective. She has studied street food markets (London), associativity for sustainable tourism in Huaraz (Peru), place-making practices in commercial neighborhoods with the case of Persa Bío Bío (Santiago), and the forced digitalization of microenterprises during the pandemic in Chile. Her current project focuses on the circular economy in the textile industry in the cities of Iquique and Santiago.

Cultural economies, economic activity and cities, place-making practices, entrepreneurship, material and sensorial elements of economic life, ethnography.
