Lorayne Finol Romero is a Professor of Public Law with over 20 years of academic experience in teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision. Her research focuses on transparency, freedom of information, human rights, and data protection, with a growing specialization in algorithmic transparency, artificial intelligence governance, and law & technology. She has published books with leading publishers (Tirant lo Blanch, CRC Press) and numerous articles in WoS, Scopus and Scielo indexed journals, combining legal analysis with public policy evaluation and regulatory impact assessment.

Research Interests

My research focuses on Public Law, Fundamental Rights with a strong emphasis on transparency, freedom of information, and data protection. In recent years, I have specialized in algorithmic transparency, artificial intelligence governance, and law & technology, combining legal analysis with public policy evaluation and regulatory impact assessment.
