Anthropologist. His research focuses on Chinese migratory networks and global commodity chains in Chile and Latin America. He studies structures of reciprocity and power in transnational contexts, exploring the intersections of money, kinship, and popular culture. He holds a PhD in Anthropology from the Complutense University of Madrid, an MA in Sociology from the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), Paris, a BA in Anthropology from the University of Chile, and a BA in Journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. He is currently pursuing an MA in Psychoanalysis and Cultural Theory (c) at the Complutense University of Madrid. He has published books and academic articles in Asia, Latin America, and Europe, and regularly organizes and participates in international seminars and conferences on these topics. At present, he serves as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on projects about China funded by the Chilean National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (Fondecyt). His fieldwork is carried out in both Chile and China, in collaboration with Jinan University (Guangzhou, China). He maintains academic cooperation networks with Brown University (United States), Jinan University (China), Universidad Nacional San Martín (Argentina), Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (Bolivia), and University of Havana (Cuba), among others. He is Editor-in-Chief and a member of editorial boards of academic journals. He also serves on the Editorial Committee of the Central University of Chile (UCEN) Press. At UCEN, he is a member of the Academic Committee of the PhD Program in Law and of the MA Program in Korean Studies. He is also a regular member of the Anthropology and Archaeology Working Group of Fondecyt-Chile.
