Ana María Galdames Paredes holds a PhD in Education and is trained as a Social Worker and Psychologist, with over 25 years of academic and professional experience in Chile. She currently serves as Director of Postgraduate Studies at the Vice-Rectorate for Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies of Universidad Central de Chile, where she plays a central role in advanced training and the strengthening of institutional research. Her research focuses on three main areas: higher education, psychosocial intervention, and conflict resolution. In these fields, she has authored more than 20 publications registered in ORCID, including articles in indexed journals, book chapters, and books published by prestigious publishers such as Tirant Lo Blanch and Le Monde Diplomatique, with active production through the current year. She has led institutionally funded research projects on topics such as gender policies in Chilean private universities, transparency and access to public information, and psychosocial and legal intervention methodologies. Her academic training includes advanced studies at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) in Madrid, enriching her work with an international and comparative perspective. This global outlook is further reflected in her role as co-supervisor of a doctoral thesis at the University of the Balearic Islands, Spain, and in her participation in accreditation processes for higher education programs and institutions in Chile, Argentina, and Mexico. In the area of researcher training, she has supervised theses and final degree projects in postgraduate programs across the fields of Education, Social Intervention, and Law. Her commitment to the dissemination of scientific knowledge is also evident in her editorial work: she served as Editor of the journal Rumbos TS from 2018 to 2024, and currently sits on the Editorial Committee of the journals Irene, Diké, and Eunomía, published by the Doctoral Program in Law at Universidad Central de Chile. Her professional background also includes positions at the Agency for Quality of Education and the Legal Assistance Corporation.
